Conversations with Missy: Chad Kowal of Farewell, My Love

One of the most beautiful things about music is that it has no boundaries. While many of us agree that many country artists come from Nashville and that Los Angeles is home to several rock bands, the truth is that there is a wide variety of musicians across the world. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Farewell My Love is a rock band on a mission to bring great music and live performances to fans everywhere.

Formed in 2011, this band has already released three EP’s and two full-length albums along with several music videos. Farewell My Love was recently given the amazing opportunity to perform on their local television program Good Morning Arizona. Having already experienced an incredible amount of success, it is not hard to imagine these guys going straight to the top.

Today marks the release of their second full-length album Above It All. Many of their fans have waited patiently for this release and just a few days ago were delighted with the release of the band’s new music video for “Inside a Nightmare” as well. With the content of this video cleverly executed, the timing of the video release was a perfect addition to the Halloween spirit. Watching this video brought memories of similar nightmares to the surface. I could not help but smile while watching it as the brilliance behind this simple concept was captured perfectly.

During my conversation with Chad Kowal (lead vocalist), we spoke about the thought process of the video and how it was birthed. He was more than eager to give credit to the animator and friend behind it, Zach Williams. We continued to chat about the band's video for “Crazy.” This video brings to light the incredible acting abilities and fun personalities the band members have individually. Not only did the video capture the lyrics within the song, it contained a spectacular intro which also includes an Easter Egg. Listen to our full conversation for the details.

Kowal has great advice for those who want to live out their dreams, so I encourage you all to listen to our full conversation and share it with everyone you know. He is wise beyond his years and has so many positive things to say about his family, friends and fellow band members.

As we continued our conversation, Kowal and I spoke about the band’s New Era Tour. They are joining The Funeral Portrait and Matt Skajem to bring fans energetic and captivating performances in cities throughout the US. Kowal also surprised me with the announcement of a free show at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Who does that? If you are close to this event you will not want to miss it.

Join me and Center Stage Magazine as we support this amazing group of fantastic musicians while they open their tour by giving a free show to all you lucky southern California fans. Do not forget to follow them on social media and share them with your friends. Be sure to come out to Chain Reaction and say hello to me. Be ready to rock as they are sure to deliver a stellar performance.  See you there. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
