Conversations with Missy: Deborah Allen

When we first arrived at the home of adored country artist Deborah Allen, we were greeted by a camera crew as they wrapped up their own interview. As soon as Allen saw that we had arrived for her following interview, she beamed with excitement and hospitality! She was absolutely amazing and kind, but she also kept offering to lend a hand to everyone which completely made me sit in awe of her genuine spirit.

As we determined the best location for our on-camera conversation, Allen stated that she wanted everyone to feel like their interview was special and did not take place in the same location. The lengths she went to to make of each of her guests feel special were simply remarkable. We had so much fun putting it all together and shared fun stories while doing it. One of those stories was about "Raymond's Roses". Allen's home is full of stunning displays of dried rosebuds and the story behind them made my heart melt. As a result, I wanted to make sure that our conversation included that beautiful testament of love and adoration.

We continued our conversation and discussed Allen's new project "The Art Of Dreaming". Behind every great album is a greater story. As Allen shared how this album was birthed, you could feel her heartfelt emotion. This project was definitely a labor of love for Allen and it shows. From "Patsy Cline Crazy" to "A Girl Like That", Allen lit up as she shared a little about each song. Feeling like I was catching up with a friend I have not seen in years, I did not want our conversation to end. I hope you enjoy her stories as much as I do, especially the one about Elvis. It made me and my husband just a bit jealous.

If you are not following Allen on social media, please do so now. Remember to share her links with your friends and family and do not forget to grab your copy of her latest album, 'The Art Of Dreaming'. It was definitely worth the wait. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
