(Nashville, Tennessee...) – December 12, 2019 -- Wade Hayes originally wrote “Who Saved Who” as a tribute to his dog, “Jack,” who helped him get through two bouts of cancer several years ago. The touching song is now the title cut to a long-awaited album that will be released this Friday, December 13, 2019. The 10-song collection follows his is 2017 Old Country Song album and is currently available for pre-order on conabar records at

“This whole project stemmed from the title track ‘Who Saved Who,’” said Wade. “I first played it on The Country Music Cruise with no intention of recording it – it was just a personal song about my dog. The reaction was the same every time I played it, and I and realized I need to record it! This song will always be special to me, and I hope everyone will enjoy listening as much as I did making this latest record.”

Regarding the title track, Wade met his dog Jack eight years ago at a gas station around midnight 75 miles outside of Nashville. He recalls the skinny dog was full of ticks and had holes in him. The folks at the station told Wade the dog had been there for several days, and no one had claimed him. “This rundown dog jumps up in the front seat of my pickup truck and sits down. He had a pizza crust hanging out of his mouth. He jumped up in the seat like, ‘OK, I’m ready to go,’ just comfortable as could be,” Wade told Billboard Magazine.

Wade brought back several heavy hitters from his very first album, including drummer Lonnie Wilson, to knock Who Saved Who out of the park. “I’ve worked with Lonnie as a drummer and songwriter off and on throughout my career, and he joined me on this project.”

Hayes wrote two of the cuts on Who Saved Who solo and co-wrote six with the likes of Roger Springer, Monty Holmes, Jake Worthington and Ward Davis. Radney Foster and George Ducas wrote “Just Call Me Lonesome,” and Phil O’Donnell, Casey Bethard, Don Sampson wrote “Behind This Guitar.” He recorded a touching cover of Third Day’s “Revelation” to wrap up the album.

A second generation country singer from Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, Hayes grew up watching his dad perform. The young guitarist’s dream was to be the next Don Rich, Buck Owens’ revered guitar player and one of country music’s most legendary sidemen. Wade began realizing that goal when Johnny Lee tapped him to be his lead guitarist. He landed a publishing deal just nine months after moving to Nashville and a contract with Columbia Records soon after. His debut single, “Old Enough to Know Better,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Follow up singles “Don’t Stop,” “I’m Still Dancing With You,” “What I Meant To Say,” “On A Good Night” and “The Day That She Left Tulsa (In a Chevy)” all hit the Top 10, and two of his albums have been certified gold by the RIAA.

In December of 2011, at age 41, Wade was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer. Successful surgery and chemotherapy removed the cancer. A year later, Wade was devastated to learn the cancer had returned. He received additional treatments, and today he has no evidence of disease. The brush with death gave him a new outlook on life and motivated him to write and record a moving collection of songs called Go Live Your Life.

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
