Desert Okie Strong For Chad Trout: Chad Trout Featuring Jamie Fox

Wrapping up our coverage of the Desert Okie Strong For Chad Trout benefit concert is Chad Trout himself with special guest Jaime Fox.

Having had the amazing opportunity to get to know this wonderful artist personally, I decided that rather than summarize our interview, I would tell you all how much this man has affected my life personally.

Trout, like many others who have faced Cancer, has taught me so much about relationships, expectations, faith, love, hope, and forgiveness. In the grand scheme of things, life is precious and far too often too short to be consumed by anything or anyone toxic. We all face challenges. We all have bumps in the road, however, it is up to us to not let those speed bumps turn into roadblocks, or to find another path if the one you are on is a dead-end. Trout is the perfect example of this.

Forging ahead with his music and passion for life while facing Pancreatic Cancer head-on is admirable.  Listening to him talk about life's struggles and those who have acted as though their struggles were unimaginable simply because they did not have a job or something else less serious than fighting for your life, it made me realize that in my own life it is up to me to get through my current battle with the knowledge that it is only as hard as I allow it to be. Someone is always there with you. None of us are without life's difficulties. Some are just focused on the good, while others are focused on the misery of having to navigate through it.

Trout may never fully understand the depth he reached within me the day we shared an hour together on the phone, however, it is my hope that one day I can fully explain it to him. His heart and mind are so treasured by his friends and fellow artists as well as fans and others who are fighting what seems to be impossible battles. His ability to let the world travel beside him on his journey through chemo and music career as well as everyday life is something many of us are not brave enough to do. Trout continues to teach us all courage, strength, love, patience, vulnerability, and the power of God, love, and friendship.

Please take a moment to watch this heartwarming conversation. You will laugh, smile, possibly cry, but most importantly you will feel. Do not forget to head over to www.desertokies.com to grab a copy of their latest CD to help support Trout's medical treatments.

Love and prayers to you Chad Trout. I am so blessed to call you a friend. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
