Creation Entertainment once again spoiled fans with its Vampire Fan Weekend at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville.

These events haven’t just continued to spoil fans year after year—they’ve continued to spoil us as media too. Whether attendees are VIP or General Admission for only one day, everyone is treated with respect and a level of care and commitment to an excellent experience that other conventions simply don’t match. The bigger ones often rely on volunteers, but Creation has a dedicated staff that truly sets them apart.

While I love covering as many events as I can, it’s always the most refreshing experience when I’m at a Creation Entertainment event. I know the flow will be smooth, the panels will be a breeze, and the sense of unity among everyone in attendance is something we just don’t see at other conventions. As media, the Creation staff goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need—and they’ll even set up interviews when possible.

When covering these events, we always try to experience as much as we can and fully immerse ourselves in every fan opportunity. The panels are always fun, and occasionally I even find myself stepping up to the microphone to ask my own questions. This time, we chose to capture as many panels as possible so we could bring fans who couldn’t attend as much content as we could. I’m so glad we did.

Watching Ian Somerhalder alongside Michael Malarkey during their panel was not only funny but remarkably beautiful. They gave honest, deep marriage advice to a newly married gentleman. Ian was incredibly engaging and playful with all his fans, especially during the photo ops. He even recalled some of the interactions with the fans who had the courage to step up to the microphone and ask questions.

I ended up taking advantage of a couple of photo ops myself. During the one with Ian, I watched as fan after fan approached him either nervous and emotional or armed with something clever to say. It left me feeling like I had nothing special to offer. But with the music blaring, I was feeling it—so I danced my way up to him instead. Ian stopped and stared silently for a brief moment, then broke into a smile, said hello, hugged me for the picture, and told me I was “FUN.” I immediately laughed because I didn't know what came over me in that moment, however, it was a memorable moment and one I do not regret in the slightest.  also got a photo with Michael Trevino. Right before my part of the line was entering the room, this older woman came out of her photo op screaming “Whoooooo… THAT was Fun!” while grabbing her heart. She had the whole line cracking up and made everyone even more eager and excited for their own turn.

The fun continued with each panel, giving fans a glimpse of who these actors are outside of their characters in addition to actual situations they have faced in life.  Paul Wesley and Daniel Gillies nearly broke the audience when sharing the unfortunate situation of a costume company from China using an unauthorized photo of Scott for several costume advertisements.  The instant they looked at the picture on Paul's phone, the whole room erupted in laughter as both Paul and Daniel scrolled through the images and commented on the situation/photos. These are the moments that captivate fans and keep them coming back for more.

Michael Trevino was just as engaging with his fans during the photo ops, and I don’t think any of them wanted it to end—he kept making everyone smile. Ben Levin and Quincy Fouse were so much fun to watch together. When they came out to the stage for their panel, Ben acted like he was going to freestyle rap for the crowd, and they absolutely ate it up. It’s really no wonder why all these guys still hang out from time to time. They have such great chemistry, and they brought that energy front and center during every panel.

Riley Voelkel was asked some extremely fun and even first-time questions from fans, which is always great to witness. Her love of animals (especially her cat) was on full display, along with the clear love her fans have for her. I truly cannot get enough of those moments. The interactions between the artists and the fans are so genuine, so memorable, and so heartfelt.

Note: Steven Krueger was unable to attend the event, and fans were immediately refunded or compensated for his absence. Creation Entertainment always puts fans first and wants them to get their money’s worth instead of feeling taken advantage of. This is why you need to attend a Creation Entertainment Event. You will have a first class experience that you will never forget. I Promise. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
