Wade Hayes Returns with Fresh Take on Classic Hit “What I Meant to Say (Revisited)”
Country music fans, get ready for a special first listen! Center Stage Magazine is proud to premiere Wade Hayes’ new single “What I Meant to Say (Revisited)” ahead of its official release on Friday, April 17.
When the song was originally brought to him, Hayes wasn’t immediately sold on recording it. “When they brought this song to me, I didn’t really wanna record it. It seemed way too sensitive for a manly man such as myself,” Wade says jokingly. “And they twisted my arm like record labels can do. Talked me into it. And I sure am glad that they did because this is one of our biggest hits and one of our most requested songs to this day.”
The updated version offers fans a powerful reminder that great country songs only get better with time. It serves as a strong preview of Hayes’ highly anticipated upcoming album, “The Best of Wade Hayes Revisited,” set for release later this year via StarVista Music.
The project finds Hayes returning to several of the songs that defined his early career, giving them new life while staying true to the traditional country roots that have long resonated with fans.Hayes first rose to prominence in 1994 with his gold-certified debut album Old Enough to Know Better. The album’s title track topped Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. He followed with a string of Top 10 hits, including “I’m Still Dancin’ with You,” “Don’t Stop,” “What I Meant to Say,” “On a Good Night,” and “The Day That She Left Tulsa.”“
