Show taped for TV airing now
Whenever there are good deeds to be done or funds raised for a worthy cause, you can always count on the country music community. When one of those causes involves the needs of our veterans, Gold Star Families, and first responders, country artists always step right up.
Case in point: Country Music Salutes America’s Heroes, a one-night-only event, presented by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, taped outside Billy Bob’s Texas, known as the world’s largest honky tonk. The show began airing in various markets across the USA beginning on Memorial Day weekend and continuing through at least July 15.
The Salute includes powerhouse performances from Jelly Roll, Tanya Tucker, Dennis Quaid, Ian Munsick, Mikayla Lane, Kylie Frey, the combat-wounded Army Infantryman and singer/songwriter Scotty Hasting and The Frontmen (Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart and Tim Rushlow of Little Texas). Also on hand: 3x Super Bowl Champions Chad Hennings and Darren Woodson.

During the taping, Tunnel to Towers surprised a Gold Star family with a mortgage-free home. The family of fallen Army Captain Torre Mallard Sr. was presented with the life-changing news by Tunnel to Towers Chairman/CEO, Frank Siller and Dennis Quaid in front of the thousands in attendance, largely first responders, active military and veterans.
“It is so special to see some of country music's brightest stars come out and take the stage to support our veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families,” said the foundation’s Siller.
