Conversations with Missy: Riley Jenkins at Nashville Elvis Festival
When I first met young Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA), Riley Jenkins, at the 2017 Nashville Elvis Festival I was blown away by his knowledge of the King of Rock N' Roll Elvis Presley. Not only was I impressed by his vast knowledge of every concert, movie, etc., but I was also astonished by his ability to mimic Elvis' stage performance flawlessly. There was immediately no doubt in my mind that Jenkins possessed an extremely rare and impressive talent that would captivate every audience he performed in front of.
As the 2018 Nashville Elvis Festival approached, I was excited to see that Jenkins would be performing once again. I was very eager to reconnect with this young ETA. As soon as we arrived backstage at The Franklin Theatre we were greeted by Jenkins with a warm smile, hugs, and loads of excitement for what was about to happen on stage as he recreated the famous Louisiana Hayride.
I honestly did not expect that his already stellar performance would have exceeded his previous year's show. Not only did I have to pick my jaw up off the floor, but I also had to wipe tears from my eyes. It was at that moment that I realized I was a proud "media mom". It was as if Jenkins was Elvis reincarnated, never missing a cue to interact with the audience causing laughter, screams, shrieks of women on the verge of losing their minds, and pure joy for an experience long missed. It was sheer brilliance.
After his epic and unforgettable performance, Jenkins sat with me for an on-camera interview. His heartfelt words of appreciation for his family, friends, and fans once again made me proud. This ETA continues to inspire fans across the country, proving that he too has the same charisma Elvis had that mesmerized so many. Watch our full conversation now to get to know this special ETA. Be sure to watch through the end as we have included a special surprise for you to enjoy. ~Missy
