Conversations with Missy: Tom Brown at Nashville Elvis Festival
If you are an Elvis fan, the chances are you are familiar with Tom Brown. Brown is not only an entertainer and performer, but he is also a die-hard Elvis fan himself. As he hosted the third annual Nashville Elvis Festival at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee, I could not wait to see what he had up his sleeve this time.
For many of Elvis' fans, these festivals serve as a memory brought back to life. Brown has done an amazing job of recreating many of those memories throughout the show. From telling stories to presenting fun facts about specific costumes and stage performances as well as Elvis movie roles, fans always go home knowing just a little bit more than they did when they arrived.
Not only is Brown loaded with Elvis trivia, but he is also heavily armed with comedic responses and funny one-liners. As he interacted with this year's celebrity judges, I could not help but laugh as he met his match with actor and singer John Schneider. I wish I had captured it all on film. The audience roared with laughter each time the pair had an exchange of words.
From the beginning of the show through its finale, Brown had the audience right where they needed to be. When it came time for him to mention sponsors of the show, well, let me just say he could have won a performance award. Never missing an opportunity to make fans smile, Brown reminded me so much of Elvis in the way that he would often make people laugh while he was on stage. The Nashville Elvis Festival is definitely a must-see for anyone who is a fan of Elvis, however, it is also a must see for the sheer fact that the entertainment is spectacular on all fronts.
