CMA Fest 2018 with Missy: Tim Rushlow

During this year's CMA Fest coverage, I ran into many familiar faces. Some of those faces I had a chance to sit with again to catch up on all they have had going on since we last spoke. As I sat with former frontman of the band Little Texas, Tim Rushlow, it was like almost no time had passed. Rushlow and his team have become part of our growing Center Stage Magazine Family.

During our conversation, we spoke about his appreciation for fans as well as the country music genre as a whole. Realizing that the fans are what makes this possible for artists like Rushlow, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and countless others, CMA Fest is the one place that connects fans to up and coming artists and well-known artists in the same place.

Grateful for getting his start with country music, Rushlow explains that he has switched lanes and has decided to keep the thrill of Big Band music alive. With the exception of Tony Bennett who is still performing several shows a year at 92 years old, who is going to carry on the beauty of Big Band music? Though you can still catch a part of a tune in commercials such as the Lincoln commercial featuring Matthew McConaughey, for the most part, this music has died with its generation.

Because of his determination to keep Big Band music in front of live audiences, Rushlow has received one of the greatest blessings by the son of Big Band legend Bobby Darin. Darin's son Dodd Darrin has now officially given Rushlow his endorsement to be the conveyor of Bobby Darin's music. That is such an honor to be given and I know Rushlow is not taking it for granted.

For more on Rushlow and where you can find one of his Big Band shows, please visit his website and social media pages now. If someone you know loves Frank Sinatra, Deam Martin, Bennett, Darin, or any of the other greats, then please get them to a Big Band show soon. You will have the night of your lives. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
