CRS 2018 with Laura: Scooter Brown Band
There are a lot of really exciting things that come along with working as a journalist in this business, one of them being the ability to bring great new artists to you that you may not have heard of in the conventional means of mainstream radio or television. We recently introduced you to the Scooter Brown Band in a segment of Track By Track, wherein we sat down with Brown and went through their debut album, American Son. During Country Radio Seminar, we were able to catch up with him and talk about how the fans have been receiving this album as well as how he decided to start this music gig while serving as a Marine for over four years.
Watch our conversation to hear where Brown learned to play music and who he asked for opinions from on whether he was "good enough" to really make a "go" at this career choice. He also tells us how he reacted to seeing the album at number 19 on the iTunes country chart. All artists have a "hope" when they go into something like this and there are times when the unexpected happens, those are the best surprises for anyone in the music business who puts their heart and soul out there for the world.
While Brown has a lot of fans and followers that are grassroots country lovers, they have been touring with artists that are no small names in music, including, The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt and LeRoy Parnell, to name a few. Brown says "we're a rock band with a country problem" and that is not a bad problem to have.
With their current touring schedule and more music being released from the album, there is no shortage of "up and coming excitement" from these guys. Make sure to listen as Brown tells us how you can find out all that they have coming up and get your copy of the new album, follow them on all social media platforms and get out to a live show near you.
Thank you Scooter, I was honored to spend some time talking with you and I look forward to what happens next! This is going to be an amazing journey for you guys and I hope we can catch up again very soon.
