Conversations with Missy: Mark Alan Cash
When I first met Mark Alan Cash, Rachel Dawson, and David Langley, I knew they were special. Their personalities are polar opposites and completely complimentary to one another. Each of them unique, each of them fun, and each of them filled with extraordinary talent.
As soon as Center Stage Magazine and Heart Songs Corporation joined forces with Alley Taps to present our first official Independent Artist Showcase during this year's CMA Fest, I knew that I wanted this fabulous trio to be a part of it somehow. Thankfully, I got my wish.
After watching Cash, Dawson, and Langley perform together at Storytellers Museum, I realized how incredibly talented they are individually and together as a group. Cash has an amazing baritone voice that you all know how much I love, while Dawson has a very beautiful voice that is bursting with emotion, and Langley's guitar playing skills are superb. Their writing skills shine through each beautifully written song and the duets are stunning.
The audience at Alley Taps was no doubt in for a special treat. Singing some crowd-favorite Johnny Cash covers, mixed with original tunes and one-liners, the fans were definitely enjoying the show. Completely unscripted, without a "setlist", the trio put on a flawless show with no hesitation between songs. The chemistry between them is evident.
Fans were thrilled and excited for the chance to meet these fantastic artists after the show. One fan was so impressed by their performance he was trembling before meeting them in anticipation of having all 3 of them (one of whom is the nephew to the great Johnny Cash) sign his guitar. That one moment is what it is about. Watching the fans connect to the artists they love is my absolute favorite part of events like CMA Fest.
After they were done with their meet and greet, we headed backstage for an on-camera conversation. We spoke about how they all met, new music, what they have coming up and the chemistry between them. I also may or may not have flirted with one of them. You will just have to watch our full conversation for all the fun, laughter, love, and more.
Please follow these guys on social media, and head over to the Storytellers Museum to watch them play. They are all exceptional musicians. Send them a shout out when you get there and tell them Missy sent you. ~Missy
