Conversations with Missy: Stella Parton
When it comes to CMA Fest, Stella Parton is definitely one artist that fans look forward to seeing every year. With 36 studio albums already under her belt and number 37 on the way, fans have enjoyed many years of Parton's hard work.
As a fan myself, I was shocked when my request for an interview was approved. To top it off, My first day at CMA Fest was the day we scheduled the interview, so talk about excitement levels being at an all-time high. Was this really how I was starting off this amazing event?
Much to my surprise, I was extremely calm when Parton walked into the room. I will never forget the moment of being on the phone with my daughter while glancing over to see that Parton had arrived. Realizing that I was who she was there to interview with, Parton motioned to me that I could continue my call. I was already about to hang up, but I still think to myself that she did not have to accommodate me, however, she was willing to wait which made me appreciate and respect her even more.
As we sat down for our conversation, Parton remained herself. She was so much fun. I was not expecting her to refer to me by name throughout the interview, but she did. She is hands-down one of the most down to Earth artists I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. You all know how much I love everyone and no disrespect to anyone at all, I was just not expecting her to be so real at an event that was insanely busy for her as it included performances, meet and greets, and several interviews with media.
During our conversation, we spoke about her music, being an independent artist and the perks that go with it, different genres, fans, and what she has coming up. Parton is a dedicated and hard working artist that is very focused on delivering what the fans want. It was easy to see her appreciation for the very people who took the time to travel to come see her at CMA Fest and other shows year after year. These fans definitely see the genuine and kind heart that Parton possesses.
When speaking with Parton about her music and different genres, she mentioned how much she loves Rockabilly. If you love it too, please do yourself a favor and grab a copy of her album Last Train To Memphis. Parton is one artist that can transport the listener anywhere they want to go. Each of her albums is unique and full of brilliant musicianship. Her Album Nashville Nights is a clever mix of songs that anyone (except me) can sing along with. Be sure to listen to our full conversation now to get a better understanding of how and why she has been able to be so successful in her career.
Do not forget to follow her on social media and share her music and story with your friends. If you feel like sending her a message, make sure you tell her that I sent you. ~Missy
