Whenever I get the chance to chat with an artist that I have connected to, I take it. I genuinely love these people and have appreciated the ability to watch them grow as artists. Rachel Lorin is one of the artists that I am lucky enough to now call a friend.
We spent so much time chatting and sharing stories about who we are and crazy things we have done in our lives. She may have even gotten me to share an embarrassing story about the first time I met Jon Bon Jovi. From being Disney fans to attending Hannah Montana concerts, we discovered how much we have in common. The biggest difference between us is that unlike me, she can sing, and boy does she have some power.
Her latest song "I Hate You" has been gaining a lot of attention in the music world. She has been a part of several contests, going up against bands that she herself has been a huge fan of, so this experience is nothing short of phenomenal for her. We spoke about the difference between where she is now versus where she was a year ago, and I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved and respected her opinion of her growth as a female rock artist.
We continued our conversation about her upcoming album, where she is at in the process, and her participation in the upcoming Rock Fest. Fans are going to have their world rocked when Lorin takes the stage. Her high energy performance and solid delivery will no doubt be the talk of the popular rock festival. Towards the end of our conversation, Lorin and I had a lot of fun discussing her stage performance in High School Musical and High School Musical 2 as the youngest performer, as well as the popular Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place and one of its stars, David Henrie.
