Conversations with Missy: Ashley Blankenship

During a recent trip to Los Angeles, Center Stage Magazine was able to meet and interview several amazing talents. As we headed to her cozy apartment in West Hollywood, we had no idea how delightful Ashley Blankenship would be.

This was one of those moments that I as a mom was extremely nervous about as I had to bring my soon to be 5-year-old Autistic son with me. Not knowing that Blankenship was a complete sweetheart, I was nervous about how this was going to go.

For starters, we were told as we entered her newly rented apartment, that we were her first guests. I, of course, became nervous, as I wanted to make sure our visit went well with my son. As it turns out, I had nothing to worry about in this beautifully decorated home. Blankenship was so hospitable. She made us coffee, gave Jonathan some juice and even broke out some gummi bears. If that weren't enough, she even brought out some colored pencils and a coloring book for him. I fell in love with her immediately.

During our conversation, we spoke about several of her projects. She recently filmed Fright Fest, and being that it was the day after Halloween, we started talking about our love for costumes. She told me she had done a photo shoot for Party City's costume flyer and of course, I jumped in and asked her if she got free costumes. Apparently, that is a question she gets a lot. My first thought was that since costumes are so darn expensive, that would be great if she got some for free.

One of the things that stood out to me in Blankenship's career, was an undercover episode she filmed with Inside Edition on men cat-calling women. As a mom of two daughters, I could not help but feel the outrage of these types of situations. We discussed her experience filming this and how awful cat-calling is.

I asked Blankenship what advice she would have for anyone wanting to get into the business, and she was very clear about where to start. Watch our interview now and get to know this amazing young woman. You will no doubt be seeing a lot more of her soon, so stay tuned. Do not forget to follow her on social media as well. ~Missy

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
