Conversations with Missy: Tyler Rich at the Troubadour
After being named “One to Watch in 2015” at the Country Music Social Media Awards in Nashville, June 2015, Tyler Rich has been sought after by many. Lucky for me, Center Stage Magazine was granted an interview.
As we headed to the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, I kept thinking how amazing this night would be as it would also be my first time attending an event at this venue. The Troubadour has been home to many rock idols and icons that we all know and love. From Bob Dylan’s jam session to Joni Mitchell’s Los Angeles debut, the Troubadour has been the home for extreme talent since 1957.
As we approached the venue, we were able to spot all the country fans headed to the show by the cowboy boots they were wearing and the country attire they adorned. Rich drew in an amazing crowd that was fully prepared to rock with him on stage. The line for the meet and greet was a sea of beautiful women eager to have their picture taken with one of their favorite men in country music.
As we headed to Rich’s dressing room, I could not help but feel blessed that we were there and about to sit and chat with this talented artist in his dressing room. I was actually a bit nervous as I saw his and the band's personal belongings strewn about.
When Rich entered the room, he was all smiles and immediately charming. With a container of homemade chocolate chip cookies in his hand, he offered some to us all. Being that I love cookies, as does my daughter who was excited to join me for the show, we gladly accepted. This was the perfect treat to go with this perfect interview experience thus far.
During our conversation, I spoke to Rich about his fans and how amazing they are. He was quick to thank the fans by name that gifted him with the cookies. He wholeheartedly appreciates these fans for their continued support. We continued to talk about his career, what he has coming up and his EP Valerie. Watch our conversation now for more. I am not going to spoil it.
After our conversation, Rich invited us all to stay and have fun in his dressing room. My daughter’s eyes lit up and she asked if we could stay. How could I say No? I began chatting with bassist Ben Jindra and his lovely wife Alex and before I knew it, Chaley Rose and Sam Palladio (both from the hit television show Nashville) walked in. The party just kept growing as the dressing room filled with Rich’s friends and biggest supporters. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
As show time approached we all made our way from the dressing room to the energized crowd. They went wild as soon as Rich took the stage and he fed off of their energy and positive vibe. Everyone was having a blast. We tried to capture as many photos as we could though Rich was just too fast for the lens.
Rich has been working hard on creating new music for his fans as well as performing songs they know and love. His enthusiasm for his career is infectious. This “California Grown” artist continues to wow his fans at each show. His energy on the stage is quite impressive and he had many surprises for fans that night. Chaley Rose joined Rich on stage for a rendition of Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey". Even Dennis Haskins, also known as Mr. Belding from Saved By The Bell, made his way to the stage, along with female country trio Honey County, to sing Garth Brook's classic hit "Friends In Low Places".
