Conversations with Missy: Desiree Flores

While in Southern California on the famous Sunset Strip, I was given a special opportunity to interview American Idol contestant Desiree Flores. As soon as this beautiful and vibrant young woman entered the Whiskey a Go-Go, I knew I would be in for a treat.

As the daughter of Army Major Antonio Flores, Flores has grown up moving from place to place. The challenges she faced with each move no doubt made her stronger. Committed to chasing her dream and showing others they can do the same is something to be proud of. Just because you have to keep chasing a dream, does not mean you should give up. Flores has shown countless military kids that all dreams can be turned into a reality if you do not give up on them, no matter how many times you have to move.

Her unforgettable audition of Heart’s “Alone” wowed judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick JR. ultimately gaining her the coveted ticket to Hollywood during the 14th season of American Idol. During our conversation we spoke about her experience on the show and what she gained from her time spent with the other contestants.

After watching her video “I Want You” featuring Shawn Stockman of Boys II Men, I absolutely had to know what that experience was like for her. I also may or may not have admitted to having a huge crush on Stockman. She spoke very fondly of Stockman as she recalled her experience recording the duet with him.

The sky is the limit for Flores. The release of her EP I Want You is just a sample of the amazing amount of talent contained in Flores. Her abilities as a vocalist and the knowledge combined with the experience she already has are opening up doors for her career in music. Her love and passion for what she does are undeniable. Hearing her speak about her plans for new music has created immediate anticipation to hear the finished product.  Be sure to order your copy of I Want You now and stay tuned for what she is planning next. Though we know the direction of her next project, we cannot spoil it for you, so you have to stay tuned for more.

Center Stage Magazine is looking forward to more from this incredible talent as she is just getting started and already turning heads everywhere she goes. Join us in following her on her journey and connect with her on social media now. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
