Here is our first Artist Spotlight from CMA Fest 2016. Check out her bio (direct from her website) below.
"Jaime Fox has a very familiar name, but the similarities with the “other” Jamie Foxx end at both of their abilities to soulfully wail “Georgia on My Mind.” Hailing from the great state of Maryland, Jaime moved south to Nashville fifteen years ago to pursue her country music dreams after graduating from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor of arts in Vocal Performance & Entertainment Business. Jaime hit the road hard for years promoting her music without the help of a major label, gaining thousands of country music, and recording four independent albums along the way. Jaime performed on GAC host, Storme Warren's country music cruise five times and has opened for artists like Phil Vassar, Lonestar, Mark Wills, Little River Band, Emmy Lou Harris and Lee Greenwood. She also spent nearly four years as a staff songwriter for legendary producer, Rick Hall, at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL.
A former Miss Maryland in the Miss America Pageant, Jaime has a big heart for the causes she believes in, and uses her music to bring attention to foundations like the National Foster Parent Association and her own non-profit, We Will Rise Nashville, which creates enrichment opportunities for foster and adoptive children. “I was blessed with two parents who love me and gave me a beautiful childhood,” says Jaime. “Every child deserves that, and I’m doing what I can to help children find permanent homes.” She co-wrote the national campaign song for the Walk-Me-Home Foster Care Walk-a-thon, and most recently released a song called "Home Is Where I Make It" that she penned with three children in transition.
Jaime has released three studio albums including “Crossing Over" (2005), “The Devil Was An Angel Too" (2008), and “Last One Standing” (2011). Currently, Jaime is writing and performing new music with her longtime friends, Chad Trout and Travis Trout, in a band called “The Desert Okies.” The group is set to release a new music video for their single, “I Can’t See in the Dark,” penned by Fox and Stacy Hogan."
