Conversations with Missy: Keith Walker

Sometimes in life it takes one minute for your entire life to change. That one moment not only has a profound effect on you, it may result in countless lives being affected. For Keith Walker, that moment was tragic and gut-wrenching, yet out of it came something so beautiful and long lasting.

I do not usually like to start off with emotional topics though occasionally it is unavoidable. During our conversation, Walker explained how the Tim McGraw song, “Don’t Take the Girl” impacted his life. Listen to his story now. While reading it in his bio I began crying. Hearing him talk about it in detail gave me chills.

Discovering how important music was to him after hearing McGraw during a tragic time in his life has led Walker to a successful career in country music. His song “Honky Tonk Shake” off his EP Chaser hit radio on August 8, 2015. Hitting number 27 on Music Row Country Breakout Chart is a huge milestone for this young artist. This song even has a line dance created specifically for it and the video contains some famous cheerleaders. Be sure to check it out.

Crediting Richie Promotions for being “One of the best promotion teams”, Walker was very humbled by the work they have done so far. With his new single off the upcoming EP Space Between, “Friends with Boats” is a song that many will be able to relate to and have fun singing along to. Watch for this new EP to drop in May 2016. There will also be a tour scheduled Summer of 2016, so stay tuned for dates on that as well.

Walker was announced as a top 10 finalist for the TouchTunes Breakout Band contest in February. We have not received word on who the winner is at this point though we are pulling for Walker. I am embarrassed to admit that I actually had to ask him what TouchTunes were. Yes, you can laugh. We did. Go listen to our conversation now, then be sure to follow Walker on social media and show him some love by liking and sharing. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
