Whiskey is not just a man's drink! Meet one of my new favorite ladies in country music, Katy Graves, aka Whiskey Kate. Like many of you, I was immediately curious about her nickname. Was there a funny story behind it? So, I asked her! Hear what she had to say about it during our conversation. She was so much fun to talk to.

This woman has a power inside her that is unmistakable. While listening to her song, Whiskey and Jesus, I was blown away and emotional. Though the song is only 00:01:29 in length, it is powerful and showcases her abilities well. I told her that I listened to it over and over. It is that good. Really. Go listen! 

Another one of my favorites is, "Texas Jewel". This song has a classic country sound that is perfect for dancing and having a good time. It is simply put, "Feel Good" music. When listening to her songs, you feel every emotion. Singer/Songwriters make it easy for us to feel because they deliver the emotion they felt or feel while singing. It is beautiful. Katy does it very well.

What some of you may not know is that Katy was a very sick woman and almost died as a result of her Lyme disease. Listen as she tells me what that was like and how she got through it. She definitely has a lot to be thankful for. Her future is looking fantastic and the opportunities keep coming.

Katy will be joining a radio show with Mile High Sports. She may be a musician, but she loves her sports! It sounds like this new adventure will be a great one for her. I asked her about a previous adventure she was on as a contestant on Nash Next. Her answer is what you would expect to hear from a positive girl who will never give up on her dreams. Her head and her heart are in the right place and I could not be happier for her.
