Center Stage Magazine is proud to premiere the music video "Different Kind Of High" by October Rose. When we asked Derek Allan and Leanne Weiss about their new single, this is what they had to say; "'Different Kind of High' is meant to bring awareness to the ongoing opioid epidemic happening in our country. We were inspired by hearing stories from family, friends, fans, and stories from the news about people battling addiction. In this song, we tell two different stories, but the message is universal. Our goal is to create awareness, and hopefully, make a difference, especially with the music video, which brings those stories to life.”

Be sure to watch the video and share it on your page to help spread awareness and support to those suffering with addiction. ~Missy

New Video Released 4.21.20

(Nashville, Tenn. – March 23, 2020) – Modern Country duo, October Rose, has released their new video for “Different Kind of High,” which is now available through all streaming platforms and digital retailers (listen here).

Derek Allan and Leanne Weiss, who make up October Rose, solely wrote the track, which is a heartfelt tribute to the ongoing drug epidemic across the country. “We were inspired to tell two different stories with the goal of creating awareness and sending a message of hope,” added the duo.

“Different Kind of High” tells the story of loss due to addiction from two perspectives. As songwriters, October Rose felt compelled to share this emotional story through the power of music in hopes of building awareness and encouraging change. “Each day, we’re losing mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, family members, and friends to addiction. Each story is different, but the pain of loss is the same,” commented the duo.

With the release of the single, the duo is encouraging listeners to donate to Shatterproof, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the devastation the disease of addiction causes families. Shatterproof is changing the conversation about addiction. They are saving lives by helping pass laws that prevent more of our loved ones from becoming addicted to prescription opioids and supporting first responders who can rescue those who overdose (donate here).

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
