CRS 2020 with Missy: Allie Colleen

Do you remember the phrase "Laughter is the best medicine."? The same can be said about music. When you combine those two things, it is that much better for your soul. Luckily for me, music and laughter were in full force during this year's Country Radio Seminar. What I was unaware of was the knowledge of exactly when those two things would simply take over me.

The conversation that took place with phenomenal female vocalist Allie Colleen actually began during our lunch break in the hotel restaurant. Completely unaware of what was about to happen as I sat next to a group of artists and their publicists, I simply ordered my lunch and began talking with my husband about our son getting braces applied at that very moment. The mention of braces led to one of the most unbelievable stories I had ever heard as Colleen chimed in about her experience. We all laughed in disbelief, so it was only natural that we kick off our interview by having her share that same wild story with fans.

Though I had never had the chance to speak with Colleen before the 3-day event, it felt like we had known each other for years. Every off-camera conversation that we had was full of tears from the amount of laughter that ensued. Our on-camera conversation was really no different. From make-up to childhood, tattoos, fitting in, and music, we covered a lot of ground in such a short period of time.

Colleen has one of the greatest personalities and is by far one of the nicest, funniest, and most down to Earth females I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Her strength and work ethic is quite impressive, however, it is her overall attitude that draws people in. Her ability to play and deliver powerful lyrics filled with rich emotion is captivating and her stories are the icing on the cake.

If you have not yet followed her on social media, trust me, you will want to. Plus she has some pretty great videos on her Instagram that you would not expect to see. Do yourself a favor. Follow her on social media now and share her pages with your friends. They will absolutely thank you for it. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
