CMA Fest 2018 with Missy: Olivia Ooms
16-year-old Olivia Ooms rocked the stages at this year's Country Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee. From the packed bar at Alley Taps to the CMA Spotlight Stage inside Fan Fair X, fans everywhere were talking about her stunning performances and lining up to meet the "California Country" artist.
As Ooms and I sat for our on-camera conversation, we were already sharing a few laughs and stories as we caught up from our last conversation. The maturity level of this young and extremely talented female artist is through the roof. After talking with several new fans of Ooms, they could not believe she was still in High School as her voice and stage presence screamed that she was beyond the adolescent high school years. Ooms is definitely a well-rounded artist that is great at what she does.
While Ooms is preparing for her Senior Year in High School, she is also preparing for her blossoming music career in Nashville. Though she is happy to be doing what she loves, she admitted to being a bit emotional as she realizes that the day is coming where she no longer sees her group of friends that have become her family as often. Understanding exactly where she is, I shared with her that my daughter too experiences this often.
After the laughing and story sharing, Ooms was ready to chat about her new single "California Country". There could not be a more fitting title than that for the California girl who loves singing country music. Explaining that she has a busy schedule with work, gigs, and Summer trips planned, Ooms was all smiles as she shared how excited she was to play this new song for fans. I too am excited for Ooms and where she is going next.
