I had the chance to meet Jos Winfree from the group Tennessee Outlaw Country this past week. He is in a very unique and amazing competition to open for popular bands Alabama, Blackberry Smoke, and Whiskey Myers at the Tumbleweed Music Festival in Kansas City, Kansas on May 31st and June 1st, 2019.

Now imagine if you will 3000 bands competing for this spot...Yes, I said 3000! 3000 hopefuls began this journey in hopes of landing the opening spot. The contest itself is online and includes a Facebook and Instagram voting process. Simply click the link above to cast your vote.  If you have not heard these artists, you might want to check out each band by going to their personal website and believe me you do not want to miss hearing any of them.

The last chance to vote is in April so everyone still has time. The final vote will only be made by the ticket holders to the Tumbleweed Music Festival after they will widdle down to the final 10. Then the one and only winner will be determined by the final vote. Winfree states that he is "just honored to make it this far..." but sure would like to "win it all".

The amazing talent that I have heard going through this competition is unreal. I cannot wait to hear the final outcome of the contest. Thank yall, Angie Dawn

As a young child, our house was constantly filled with the good ol' country music. My grandma was a singer and songwriter.. she actually had a record and had written for the likes of Patsy Cline. I loved hearing that woman sing.. it was angelic. That old country music runs deep in my soul. I remember watching t.v. telling everyone that I would be on that grand ol' Opry stage one day. The fact that I can't carry a tune in a bucket wasn't gonna stop me. Lol... so the chance that I've been given to work with Center Stage Magazine is God sent.
