CMA Fest 2018 with Missy: Matt Rogers

Music events such as CMA Fest for artists include special interactions with fans, but also tend to serve as a reunion for artists who have not seen each other in quite some time. Those reunions lead to jam sessions, songwriting sessions, and almost always a damn good time.

As I sat with country artist Matt Rogers, we discussed CMA Fest and what it means to be there. Knowing that many of the artists who attend are also fans of other artists, I was thrilled when Rogers brought that point up. We continued to discuss how many of the reunions with other artists at CMA Fest often lead to scheduled writing sessions to which Rogers admitted he had just scheduled two of those sessions while in the artist green room. This is just one of the reasons why so many artists want to be a part of this special music festival.

Having had the pleasure of getting to know Matt Rogers over time, I was excited to ask him about his music video for the title track of his EP, Richest Place On Earth. As we began to talk about this, the expression on his face shifted from happy to "over the moon" excitement.

Proud of who he is and where he is from, this Georgia native could not wait to share that his music video was created with 100% hometown love. From the actors to the crew and location, this music video was birthed in Rogers hometown of Eatonton, Georgia and he could not be more proud of this project.

For more information on Rodgers, please visit his website. Remember to head over to his social media pages and give them a "like" and "Share" too. While you are there, be sure to send him a message or two. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
