The next artist I was able to catch up with during this year's Country Radio Seminar is one that you definitely need to know, Haley Mae Campbell. If you do not already have her music on your playlist, get ready, you will wonder why you have been missing out on this amazingly talented artist.

Her single, "Lose My Number" was a breakout song that peaked as a #5 pre-order on the iTunes Country Chart and debuted at #43 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart.  Campbell was named the 2016 Independent Tone Awards’ “Country Artist of the Year” as well as “Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year” by the i93.7 Locals Only show, all in support of her previous EP, Phone Home.

Campbell's current single "Oughta Be", from her sophomore album, Lovers Lottery, is set for release on April 27, 2018. This track is one in a long line of self-penned songs that she says her life experience has given her.  While only 19 years old, this artist has been hard at work towards her career since she was 13 and her writing and performing definitely seem to come from a place of an "older soul".  Campbell is a rare breed of artist that is multi-talented with the ability to play many instruments, write songs that tell a story and make you feel what she says as well as belt them out in a way that gives you goosebumps from the first note to the last.

Campbell has had the honor of being the opening act for such artists as Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay, David Nail, Lauren Alaina, Love and Theft, Thompson Square and Tyler Farr, The Avett Brothers and has performed alongside headliner Sheryl Crow during a festival.  Recently during a panel discussion held by Bobby Bones, during Country Radio Seminar, Campbell was called out by Bones to sing on the spot.  Without missing a step, she sang the "Star Spangled Banner" to a room of hundreds of an industry-only audience that had everyone abuzz afterward.

Watch our conversation and fall in love with Campbell for not only her enthusiasm for what she does but as well her confidence and pure authentic nature and energy that is contagious.

Make sure you follow her on all social media platforms and get out to a show very soon to see her perform live.

Haley Mae, thank you for taking some time to talk with us and I wish you the very best of luck, I look forward to what happens next with you and I can not wait to catch up with you again very soon.

About Laura Lou

Laura Lou Journalist

Beginning about age 13, music always been my “safe place”, my “escape”, it became a part of who I am. My background includes being a photographer/journalist for newspapers, magazines and radio stations and more recently I have been an artist manager. What I continue to strive to learn is, what is important to the fans/readers? I find that the answer is always that they want to feel close to the artist they are supporting. The human contact that we all need is something that I want to deliver to anyone that happens to read something I write or see a photograph I shoot. It is important to me to provide that experience, because I am, after all, still always a “fan” and that giddy 13-year-old girl is simply amazed! I never imagined that my passion and love for music would lead me where I am today! I use the hashtag #iamtheluckiestgirliknow because I cannot believe how blessed I am! I’m excited to see “what happens next” and take you all along with me! This is going to be amazing…
