CMA Fest Artist Spotlight continues today with Blaine Roy. Roy and his band were so much fun to speak with backstage at Alley Taps. We had a blast on and off camera. The guys work very well together, so putting on a kick ass show is easy for them. Fans ate it up. Please watch our fun conversation now and then check out Roy’s bio (taken from his website) below.

“Born and raised in South Louisiana, Blaine is 100% Cajun. He is the youngest child of Leo and Mary Roy's five children and has a very close relationship with his family. " I was raised on an eighty-two acre farm. So growing up I could sing as loud as I wanted and not bother anyone, except maybe my family."

Blaine's "Honky Tonk Heroes" include: George Strait, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Dunn, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Vern Gosdin, Hank William's Jr.... and the list goes on.

While in college, Blaine started working at Cowboy's Nite Club in Scott, La. There he would forge lasting relationships with many musicians of the various bands that would perform at the club. These various bands would call Blaine up to the stage to sing.

Blaine started his band Second Wind in 2002. It all started with a phone call to Steel Guitarist, Richard Comeaux. From there things quickly fell into place.”

"It is a balancing act when you love music and your family. My beautiful wife and my two boys sacrifice time with me and I owe them priority time as well. You will never see me performing on holidays or special occasions for my family."

"People have many different passions. Some travel, some hunt, some fish, and so on... I sing."

Roy has a unique sound that keeps drawing in more and more fans. Combine that with the fun personalities of his band members and you have pure entertainment. Do yourself a favor and follow these guys on social media. Check out the website and download their tunes. You will love what they have to offer the country music world. I know I do. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
