Star lineup to take the Ryman stage

“It all begins with a song,” as they say at Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). Once again, it is time to honor some of the incredible people who make that happen with the 6th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards presented by City National Bank. The gala event will take place Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Ryman Auditorium.

As always, the Award recipients will be feted by a who’s-who of star recording artists – many of whom are hit writers themselves.  Recently added to the performer lineup: ERNEST, Nicolle Galyin, HARDY and Lori McKenna.

They will be joining artists previously announced, including: Trannie Anderson, Renee Blair, Ben Johnson, Tracy Lawrence, Megan Moroney, Hunter Phelps, Emily Shackelton, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and Dallas Wilson.

In addition to performances, it is truly a night dedicated to the creation of song, featuring stories behind each of the songs and honorees celebrated. Each year NSAI also honors a few individuals who have immensely impacted the songwriting community or profession as a whole, and this year three individuals have been announced as recipients.

Legendary songwriter Bobby Braddock will be presented with the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award, Tim McGraw will be honored with the NSAI President's Keystone Award, and National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) President and CEO, David Israelite, will receive NSAI's Advocacy Award.

Additional awards of the night go to the ‘Songwriter of the Year’ and ‘Songwriter-Artist of the Year,' as well as the peer-voted ‘Song of the Year’ and ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ awards.

Tickets are currently available for purchase at ryman.com. For up-to-date information on the awards and NSAI news, follow @nsaioffical on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. More about NSAI here.

This will an evening to remember in the city where songwriters really rule.  As Blake Shelton said on September 24, 2015, at a party celebrating the writers of five of his recent hits: “I’m literally nothing, I don’t even exist, without these songwriters who write songs for me.”

The Nashville Songwriter Awards is made possible by City National Bank and our event partners: Loeb & Loeb LLP, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, The Recording Industry Association of America®, Renaissance Nashville Hotel, Jack Daniel’s, Recording Academy Songwriters & Composers Wing, SoundExchange, Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, The Mechanical Licensing Collective, and Emerald Luxury Transportation.
