CRS 2020 with Missy: Walker Montgomery
Being able to sit with an artist as they experience an event for the first time as an artist is always a lot of fun. Luckily for me, I sometimes get to experience multiple first-time event appearances with the same artist. This was the case with country artist Walker Montgomery.
Though Montgomery is no stranger to the music world and the popular music festivals that go with it, having John Michael Montgomery as a father, I am pretty sure it is safe to say that experiencing it himself is a completely different and well-deserved feeling.
One thing I absolutely love about Walker is his ability to be real, and share stories. It was evident from the first time I met him that he is humble, gracious, appreciative, and extremely grateful. While we sat for our conversation at this year's CMA Fest, I had to ask Walker if there were times on stage that he ever zeroed in on what was happening in the crowd. His answer was not one that I expected, however, I am so glad I asked. How artists maintain composure while on stage witnessing some of these moments is beyond me.
Walker has been turning heads and gaining new fans with every show. His EP Simple Town along with his current single "You Heard It Here First" have received a lot of attention and country music fans are loving it. Though I tried to get Walker to spill what he has coming up next, he, unfortunately, said we all need to stay tuned to find out. For now, watch our full conversation to get to know Walker a bit more. When you are done with that, check out his video and be sure to grab his music at the links provided. If you are a true country music fan, Walker Montgomery needs to be on your playlist.
Do not forget to follow Walker on all social media including TikTok and share his pages with your friends. They will thank you for it. ~Missy
About CMA Fest
The Ultimate Country Music Fan Experience™ began in 1972 as Fan Fair®, which drew 5,000 fans to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Now in its 48th year, the legendary festival has become the city’s signature Country Music event that hosts tens of thousands of fans from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and 37 international countries. In 2019, CMA Fest featured 11 official stages with hundreds of artists performing—all to benefit music education. CMA Fest is a one-of-a-kind festival with artists donating their time to perform so ticket proceeds can directly benefit high-quality music programs across the country through the CMA Foundation. CMA Fest is filmed for a primetime ABC Television Network special airing Sunday, Aug. 4, with 2019 marking the 16th consecutive year the event has been filmed for television, a feat no other music festival has achieved.
