Recently, I was able to connect with a new artist to talk about his debut EP. Though he may be new to music, many of you know Tim Williams as the face of Trivago among many of his impressive acting credits. Over the Christmas holiday, Williams was kind enough to answer some questions for us about following his passion of music and creating this new project. Enjoy.

Missy: Being that the world has known you as the face of "Trivago" for the last several years, what has it been like for you to finally be able to share your musical talents with everyone through the release of your debut album "Magnolia City"?

Tim: "It has been a true blessing.  Trivago has helped me tremendously in my outreach to new audiences and allowed me the free time to pursue my music."

Missy: Knowing that you have many musical genre influences such as KISS and Johnny Cash, what was the deciding factor in deciding which direction to go with your first album? How long did it take you to create this project?

Tim: "When I was listening to KISS, I was convinced that I wanted to be a rock star. I got turned on to country music around 13 years old when I would visit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I got the opportunity to create and release an EP in 2013, but that wasn’t the sound I was looking for and that’s why I decided that I should make a country project. It took us around eight months to go from songwriting to a finished album."

Missy: Do you have any memorable or stand out moments that took place during the creation of this project?

Tim: "Going into the studio and watching how these musicians worked was incredible.  They would play the song once and we’d get the cut. I was told that I could work with them via Skype, but I was happy that I made the trip to Nashville to be in the studio.  It was a wonderful experience."

Missy: Living in Germany for the past 15 years, I imagine that the language has become less of a barrior for you, however, are there any challenges with your music that you have had to overcome?

Tim: "The biggest hurdle in Germany is that there isn’t much of a country music scene there. Hopefully, I can eventually play shows there and introduce my German fans to my country music."

Missy: Now that you have been able to officially add your passion for music to your already impressive acting career, do you have plans to take your music on the road?

Tim: "Yes, we are currently looking for opportunities to get on the road in the summer of 2019."

Missy: Early in your career you moved to New York and like many sought out landing a job in one of the various Broadway shows. Are you or would you be interested in landing a role in a musical film such as the recent The Greatest Showman?

Tim: "Why not! I love a challenge and taking on a role like that would certainly be challenging."

Missy: What do you want fans to come away with most when they listen to your debut album?

Tim: "A smile. Maybe they have learned more about who I am by listening to the project.  These were all fun stories that captured a piece of my life."

Missy: Last question...If you had it to do all over again, is there anything you would change about the path you took early on in your career? Why or why not?

Tim: "It would be interesting to see what would have happened if I had pursued music before acting or if I had simply decided to pursue music earlier in my life."

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
