While talking to one of my favorite Cowboys during CMA Fest 2018, I had no idea that I was about to be told of a terrifying and beautiful experience that took place at 100 MPH just 3 months prior. Thankfully, Paul Bogart was my first interview for day 2 of CMA Fest because his story was so thrilling that it completely awoke all my senses.
As we kicked off our conversation, we talked about Bogart's busy Summer tour schedule which included a benefit show called "Ride a Horse, Feed a Cowboy". Fascinated by the title, I knew I wanted to know more about this show and the cause. Bogart explained that he has been involved in this particular benefit for about 8 years and is hopeful that they will soon add a roping competition so that he can also participate in that as well.
Continuing our discussion, we landed on the topic of songwriting. Just minutes before our interview, I discovered that Bogart has written with my favorite "Kid Brothers", The Swon Brothers. Bogart smiled as he shared that they were a part of his first band and that both Zach and Colton Swon are phenomenal players that can pick up any instrument they want and simply start playing it very well. Knowing the talent of these three artists, I must admit that I would love to see the three of them on stage together sometime soon.
This is when our interview took a major turn to thrilling, suspenseful, exciting, and absolutely unbelievable. I have heard stories about people who have superior strength and determination to get through life-changing situations, however, when it comes to having kids, I thought I had an intense life-altering experience until I heard what Bogart's wife Tanya had to endure. All I can say is that she is a rockstar and I would have died. My words cannot do this story any justice, so please watch our full conversation now. I can promise you that this story is one that will leave you speechless. Not all Super Heroes wear capes and it looks like I have a new one.
