Angie Dawn`s Not So Secret Diary: Bailey James
This year's Country Radio Seminar left us full of anticipation as we learned about the many exciting projects our artists have coming up. Not only did we hear about new music, new projects, and new tours, we also heard about special events and powerful messages.
When I sat down with female country artist Bailey James, she shared the success of her debut single "Run Girl" and the message it brought specifically to teenagers. As a dreamer herself, James feels that it is important for young teens to follow their dreams even when others tell them to let those dreams die.
With her debut single landing in the top 40 along with well-known artists such as Keith Urban, James celebrated her achievements with her family, though it was making her dad proud that seemed to hold a special place in James' heart.
James explained that with the loss of her brother, she was extremely happy to be able to use her music to bring her dad some happiness. We immediately began discussing the importance of music in relation to overall well being and how therapeutic it really is. Music does heal. James continued by explaining that part of her goal is to assure other teens that "imperfection is a thing".
As a part of her continued journey in music and her mission to help teens, James has also taken part in a cause related to teen suicide prevention. Her passion to follow her dreams and determination to help others do the same is special. I would like to encourage you all to follow James on social media and discover how you too can be a part of positive change. ~Missy
