Conversations with Missy: The Oak Ridge Boys

When it comes to world-class entertainers, The Oak Ridge Boys are at the top of the list. With their new album 17th Avenue Revival making its way to music fans this coming Friday, March 16, 2018, this group of top-notch artists have taken this release to a whole new level.

Not only are The Oak Ridge Boys releasing their new album on CD and on all digital formats, they have decided to release it on Vinyl, Cassette, and are considering releasing it on the Cylinder. Completely blown away by their decision, I had to ask them how they came to make such a fantastic decision. Watch our full conversation now to hear the fun that went into making this idea a reality.

Having now been able to witness these guys in action, I can tell you that the energy and chemistry on stage will exhilarate you and their personalities will captivate you. If you had the chance to read the concert review by our very own John Tedeski, you know that when it comes to their fans, The Oak Ridge Boys treat them as if they are family. Stopping a show during their Christmas tour when a fan showed signs of trouble and needed immediate medical attention, Joe Bonsall, Richard Sterban, William Lee Golden, and Duane Allen stopped the show, silenced the room, began to pray for their fan in need and sang "Amazing Grace" as she was taken by ambulance. This beautiful moment will never be forgotten as it touched the hearts of many. I was excited to be able to speak with them about it during our interview, and once again, my heart was flooded with gratitude for these genuinely kind souls.

The Oak Ridge Boys are each unique in their performance style, however, they are equally loved by their adoring fans. With smiles plastered on their faces as they cheered for their favorite songs, the fans at the CMA Theater on Monday, March 5, 2018, walked away from the concert that night with even more than what they had anticipated. For a brief moment, there were no troubles, no sorrows, no sadness and no anger in the world and it was magnificent.

Before I could end my conversation with this fabulous foursome, I had to ask them about a merchandise item I saw on their website. I must say, I was taken by surprise by their response to my question about a jar of Jalapenos. Trust me, you need to hear this. If you have not yet watched our conversation, please do so now. Remember to follow The Oak Ridge Boys on social media and stay tuned to their website for all the latest news, updates, and show information. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
