Conversations with Missy: T.G. Sheppard at Nashville Elvis Festival

During my phone interview with T.G.Sheppard, we both agreed that as soon as I moved to Nashville, we would sit down for an on-camera interview. We finally had the opportunity to sit and chat while attending the Nashville Elvis Festival at the Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee.

This conversation is one that I will always hold dear to my heart. Sheppard has always been very kind and gracious. Being able to listen to him share fond memories of his friendship with Elvis was a blessing. For a moment, it was like I got to know the man behind the name, Elvis. There is no doubt in my mind that his spirit was indeed there with all of us as we paid tribute to his legacy.

For the die-hard Elvis fan, the story of Elvis playing "War" or "Kill" at the skating rink may not be new, however, this information was new to me. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for Sheppard to have these experiences with the "King". Listen to our full conversation now to hear Sheppard describe how these moments took place and what was involved.

Fascinated by his stories and moved by the emotion that Sheppard displayed, I knew that Elvis was not only one of his greatest friends, he left a void that could never quite be filled. Sheppard explained that when Elvis died, the light and energy that he was had died too. I almost cried as Sheppard described what it was like going back to Graceland for the first time since his friend passed away.

What Elvis has left behind is truly beautiful. Due to his humble and giving heart, Elvis' friends are now sharing their stories of friendship, paying it forward, and honoring his memory by doing for others what he did for them. Sheppard has encouraged not only me, but everyone to "Never give up" and to "Never stop chasing your dreams".

As you will see in our conversation, Sheppard has a very special event coming up on July 1st. Returning to Graceland to perform on the grounds of the place he once visited with his friend, Sheppard and his wife Kelly Lang will be performing what will be a very memorable concert for fans. If you have not yet made plans for the 4th of July weekend, stop what you are doing and make your arrangements now. You are not going to want to miss this event. Center Stage Magazine will be there and we will be talking to the fans. We hope to see you there. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
