Conversations with Missy: Hank Cochran PEN Fund Series, Little Texas
I must admit that I sometimes get a little nervous before an interview. I try not to, but it can be challenging when you are excited to finally speak to someone you have admired for years. Having the opportunity to interview Dwayne O'Brien and Porter Howell of the well-known band Little Texas, had me extremely excited.
These guys have had many hits and every country music fan has heard them on the radio or seen them live at one of their engaging performances. As soon as I was introduced to them, my feelings of nervousness simply disappeared. O'Brien and Howell were very warm and welcoming.
Knowing we were all there for the Hank Cochran PEN Fund, we spoke about what being a part of this event means to them. Having a serious discussion about cancer and exactly who is affected by it, was something that I am so glad we got to do. It was heartwarming to see them give back to their music family.
While I did not expect to get some of the information these two shared with me, I can say that I am beyond impressed by who they are as individuals. After our interview, we shared stories and fantastic life moments. They treated everyone they met with so much kindness that I could not help have even more admiration for them.
As you will see in our conversation, these guys are fun, loving and loyal to the music community and those in need. We laughed about price differences and the realization so many have had about moving to Tennessee, along with road tripping in Texas. That struggle is very real to many.
Please follow them on social media and do not forget to grab some of their music if you do not have it already. Their vocals are spot on and their live performances are captivating. Make sure you catch them at a show near you soon. ~Missy
