Conversations with Missy: Tom Dixon
Nashville has become home to many artists in the music industry. I am fortunate enough to be able to have conversations with many of them. One of Nashville’s newest rising stars, Tom Dixon, is quickly turning heads and attracting more fans at each of his high-energy performances.
As soon as Dixon answered the phone, I knew this was going to be a great interview. We immediately laughed and began sharing stories. We even shared our love for Google drive. Realizing that time was flying by, I reluctantly ended our fun conversation after 30 minutes.
For a new rising star, Dixon has already released many singles, EP’s and most recently his third full-length album; Songwriter Unplugged. He has performed in several states the past three years and has joined many heavy hitters on stage such as Lee Brice, Joe Nichols, LOCASH, and more. He has also had the amazing opportunity to open for country legend Alan Jackson, which of course led me to question him on that experience, and he is currently playing shows as a part of the Taste of Nashville Tour.
When Dixon and I spoke about his performance during the 1st Annual Live Free Country Music Festival in Manchester, NH., he described the feeling of playing at a stadium as “the coolest thing ever”. Explaining to me that this was a bucket list experience for him, Dixon continued to tell me that the stage set-up was crazy and described the event with so much enthusiasm. I could definitely see why this memory is so exciting to recall.
Do yourself a favor and grab your copy of his latest album Songwriter Unplugged now. The holidays are coming, so treat yourself or someone you love to Kick Start This Party as an extra bonus. Right now, however, I ask you to please listen to our full conversation with this extremely fun and talented country artist. Be on the lookout for an upcoming episode of Shenanigans with Missy featuring Dixon as I have a feeling he and I could get into some serious fun. ~Missy
