Conversations with Missy: Ricky Young
Have you ever had a moment where you needed to pinch yourself to see if that moment was real? Well, that is what happened to me. I have been dying to interview Ricky Young. We were supposed to meet during CMA Fest, but as you can imagine it was completely crazy and well, it never happened. I posted an interview request on social media in hopes that it would get a response, but no! That is when I got a call from Mr. Wizard. Center Stage's very own Tommy Lemon was able to book easily the interview! OK...time to put #FanGirl away and get to some serious business.
There was so much to talk about. There were so many things I wanted to know, that fans needed to know. We talked about songwriting, the November, 20 release of his NEW EP, Shock Moves, his friendship with Lee Brice and playing baseball in the minor leagues for five years. We laughed together as he shared fun stories that even Lee has not heard! We even shared an emotional moment while talking about his video, "Baby Wassup". Be sure to listen to our conversation to find out what those stories are.
Ricky Young is a very talented artist with a lot to offer the music world. His first single, "Could You Love Me Again", hit radio in 2013, gaining him a lot of recognition and adoring fans. Imagine the feeling of hitting a million views on your YouTube channel! The momentum he has is amazing. His newest single, "Let the Whiskey Do the Talking", has fans going crazy for more. I was so impressed by the amount of fans that have been sharing this song on Facebook and Twitter. I have listened to it several times myself. Be sure to click on the iTunes link above to download your copy of this brilliant EP!
Having written many songs and with artists such as The Zach Brown Band and Lee Brice, you know that the songs are going to be great. Ricky's songs tell stories that are real and personal. I love hearing where some of these songs come from and how. He shared stories with me about some of these songs, and since I am not a fan of spoilers, you will just have to listen to our entire conversation! Enjoy! ~Missy
