CMA Fest 2017 has been the most amazing festival experience for Center Stage Magazine to date. No disrespect to other festivals or experiences, I just mean that the volume of opportunities we were granted simply cannot be compared. One of my favorite memories of this event was meeting the artists filled with excitement and awe for where they were and how many fans were there to see them.
Emotion like that cannot be faked. The looks in their eyes were so special to see. The smiles on their faces and thrill in their voice are completely indescribable. Speaking with the young artists was especially fun for me as they were filled with the most excitement. Bailey James was no exception.
Having a new single out titled "Run Girl" no doubt had to be a great moment for James. As we spoke about this song, James explained that she also made a music video to go with it. It was when she explained the making of that video that the real fun of our conversation began. We both got a little goofy as we shared our feelings on treadmills. I am sure that those of you who know me, know where this conversation went. For those of you who do not know me, now is your chance to get to know that part of me along with getting to know this talented young female vocalist.
James is already experiencing serious accomplishments in her new career. Though she did mention going through some trials with her school peers, James presented herself in a way that many adults could learn from as she explained what those trials were and how she got through them. Her determination to be herself and live her dream shines through each word she says. She is an exceptional role model as well. Her talent and personality combined leave no question as to why she was given the opportunity to perform at one of the most iconic venues in Nashville, the Wildhorse Saloon. I may or may not have scared her when I told her that Ty Herndon played there the night before, but I know that she killed it and has no reason to ever doubt what we all know she is capable of.
