Conversations with Missy: Lauren Ashley and the Trainwreckers

While sitting in the green room at the Wildhorse Saloon, I sat with some band members of the Trainwreckers waiting for the performance with Lauren Ashley to begin.  Playing the Bass in the band is Davis Branch.  Getting to know him before the performance made me realize that we were in for a great show. The rest of the members include Will Marsh on drums, Mark Lonsway on rhythm guitar/background vocals and Jesse Isley on lead guitar.

When the show started, Ashley lit up the stage. She was full of energy. The guys in the band followed her lead and everyone had a superb time. Fans were dancing and singing along. Stage right, there were some young women eager for Ashley’s attention. I watched as they put a note up on the stage waiting for her to read it. After a few minutes, Ashley picked up the note and read that is was one of the young women’s 15th birthday. Giving the birthday girl a special shout out, Ashley made the girl beam with excitement.

During her performance, Ashley took what I consider a huge risk. Yes, she did a cover of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name”. Normally, I have a hard time listening to anyone cover this difficult song. She nailed it. The guys in the band did an exceptional job as well and I could not wait to talk to Ashley about it during our conversation after the performance.

Watch our video now to find out more about this lovely woman with a voice that can belt out amazing tunes. We spoke about how she came up with the name for her band, what she has coming up and more. She is country, she is rock and together with her band, they are astounding. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
