Billy Ray Cyrus has released THE HILL (Deluxe), an expanded edition of his latest album, according to Taste of Country. The outlet reported that the new version adds collaborations with his children Miley and Noah Cyrus, a reworked song from the Hannah Montana era, and a new recording of a track he first cut 30 years ago.
The original THE HILL came out in June, Taste of Country reported. It was the first album in 14 years in which all of Cyrus's studio recordings were new.
One addition is "You Are My Everything." Taste of Country reported that Miley encouraged her father to record the song years ago. Cyrus told the outlet that about 20 years ago, while he was driving the two of them to the Hannah Montana set, Miley kept telling him it was the best song he had ever written. He has now recorded it with his son Braison Cyrus. According to the outlet, he dedicated the new version to Miley, her husband Maxx Morando, and his longtime partner Elizabeth Hurley.
Other new material includes an acoustic version of "On Our Way Along" with Noah Cyrus. On "Storm Windows," Cyrus offers his take on a John Prine song alongside DELTONA. Taste of Country also reported that the edition has a new version of "I Want My Mullet Back," which marks that song's 20th anniversary. The song first appeared on Hannah Montana, and Cyrus described the new recording as a "20th anniversary special edition."
Cyrus also recorded "Storm In The Heartland" again, 30 years after the original, in the studio he used the first time, the outlet said. The deluxe edition features other artists as well, including Steve Ray Ladson and Bucky Covington, a former American Idol contestant.
Cyrus said in the Taste of Country interview, "I can’t wait for everyone to hear the Deluxe!"
