Olivia Rodrigo will release her first holiday song, "Take Me Home (4 Christmas)," on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT), according to Billboard and Variety. A music video will accompany the single. Variety reported that it stars Rodrigo with Sex and the City actor Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live cast member Ben Marshall.

Rodrigo announced the release on Monday (Nov. 2) on Instagram, Billboard reported, and shared the single's artwork. Billboard described the artwork as a photo of her seated on the floor, wearing a red Santa hat and lipstick of the same color. In her caption, she wrote that she is "so excited," per Billboard's report of the post.

The same day, Rodrigo released a 40-second teaser for the video, according to Billboard. In the clip, Marshall and Nixon play a game of Heads Up and try to guess the clues. The clip also shows a fire, holiday sweaters, a Christmas tree and Rodrigo's stocking on the mantel. Billboard noted that the teaser has no audio from the song.

Variety reported that Rodrigo wrote the song with her frequent collaborators Dan Nigro and Amy Allen, and that Nigro produced it. A 7-inch vinyl and a cassette can be pre-ordered on Target's website and will be in stores Friday, Variety reported. Paste reported that the physical releases will include a B-side called "miss this christmas."

According to Billboard, the single is Rodrigo's first new music since her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, came out in June. Billboard also reported that the album has topped the Billboard 200 for a total of three weeks. Variety reported that her "Expectations" remix with Chappell Roan was released Oct. 15. The remix has a video that also features David Byrne.

Variety reported that Rodrigo is currently touring the world on her "Unraveled" tour, with dates continuing until May 2027. Variety also said she will be given the Songwriter of the Year Award at Variety's 10th annual Hitmakers event, held in Los Angeles in December.
