Flat River Band Drops Sunny New Anthem "This Is How We Summer" July 17

There aren’t many summer songs more perfect than “This Is How We Summer” from the country music kings of three-part family harmony, Flat River Band. Lucky for us, it drops near every ocean, river and lake Friday, July 17, 2026, just when summer’s at its absolute hottest.

To say Flat River Band did it again is an understatement, mainly because they never miss. Not ever. “This Is How We Summer” is a country summer anthem that strips away the window dressings and gets right to what makes the season great: fishing, swimming, boating and really enjoying family and friends. To complete things, this harmonic trio has created the ultimate music video to support the new single, and while summertime always brings fun new music, it often comes along with a few shenanigans too. The Sitze brothers of Flat River Band aren’t above some high jinks along the water, which makes their video even better.

“A summer anthem for every salt of the earth country boy,” shared songwriter and Flat River Band member Chad Sitze. “Every lyric is a true testament to how our daddy raised us, and he loved to fish with the brothers and me all the time.”

A must-add to every summer playlist, “This Is How We Summer” was produced by Tre Corley and Flat River Band. Corley also took charge of mixing and mastering. Recording was done at Brownstone Recording Studio and Oak Tree Production Studio. Flat River Band is made up of Dennijo Sitze (vocals, electric guitar), Andy Sitze (vocals, bass guitar) and Chad Sitze (vocals, acoustic guitar). Other musicians on the project included Kelly Back (electric guitar), Eddy Dunlap (steel guitar) and Dan Needham (drums).

With a lifetime of experience playing music together, Flat River Band always delivers expert musicianship and the harmonies are far from just learned. Their voices blend together like only families can, producing the most listenable vocals you’ll find anywhere. With a string of tour dates on deck, there’s a good chance they’ll be doing a show somewhere within driving distance, and they are definitely worth the trip. Follow them on social media to see the full concert lineup and let them know your thoughts on the new music too!

About Patti McClintic

Patti McClintic Journalist

I’m a pop culture and history nerd. I love my family, friends, random trivia and animals. I found out early I had a natural knack for creating stories and finding my way around the English language. Writing came easy for me. If I was going to write about anything, pop culture seemed like a good choice.

I spent 10 years writing for UK-based Think Country. I’ve interviewed countless artists and reviewed many shows and records. I’ve written show reviews on Charlie Daniels, Florida Georgia Line, Merle Haggard, The Cadillac Three, Randy Travis and multiple CMA Fests. Artists I’ve interviewed include Brett Eldredge, Carly Pierce, Ashley McBryde, Lonestar, Lainey Wilson and Jeannie Seely, to name just a few.

I also had a three year stint working in public relations in Nashville. I learned so much more by seeing the music business from the other side. I am forever grateful to have been given that opportunity at B Noticed PR, a highly-respected PR firm, whose clients have included Exile, Jeannie Seely, Allie Colleen, Brady Seals and Adam Hood.

When I’m not involved in the music industry, you can find me hanging out with my husband, playing cornhole or fishing. I’m a genealogy addict and I love perusing very old newspapers and cemeteries. I’m a proud mom and grandma, so family matters a lot to me, even my cat family members. I’m thrilled to be a part of Center Stage Magazine and looking forward to whatever comes my way while I’m here. There’s really nothing else like it.
