CMA Fest 2018 with Missy: Jeannie Seely

There are so many country music legends among us here in Nashville, and luckily we were able to sit down with Jeannie Seely during CMA Fest 2018 to discuss her life, music, and 51 years at the Opry.

With a fun loving personality, funny sense of humor, honesty, and ability to be nice to everyone she meets, Seely has definitely set an example for other artists and human beings to follow. Remaining her genuine self whether on stage or out in public, Seely explained that it is just better to be nice to everyone in life as having to "remember" to be nice would take too much work.

As Seely and I sat down for our conversation in the Music City Center, I asked her about her upcoming participation in the Match Game as part of the CMA Fest festivities. With a smile on her face, Seely expressed that her ultimate goal was to just make viewers laugh as she decided it was too late for her to try and be smart. I laughed as she explained how preparing for the game ended with her watching 5 episodes of the game show and only getting one answer right. I have to agree with her, I would rather focus on making others laugh as well.

As we continued our fun conversation, we talked about our love of dogs, her friends, Dottie West finally making it into the Country Music Hall Of Fame, and so much more. She even poked a little fun at Larry Gatlin. Please do yourself a favor and watch our full conversation. Get to know Seely just a little bit more and discover why she is so well-loved in the country music industry. Her fans, friends, and peers are all better off for having the opportunity to know her and her music.

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
