CRS50 with Missy: Ray Scott

When it comes to independent artists in Nashville, you will often find that some of the most well-known artists are actually independent. Ray Scott is one of the many successful independent artists in country music today.

With a uniquely fun and vibrant personality, quick wit, fantastic sense of humor, rich vocals, and the writing skills of a musical genius, there is no doubt in my mind that Scott will continue to pack venues across the globe while delivering the audience more entertainment then they could possibly imagine.

Never knowing what I will be in store for while speaking with Scott, I am always certain that laughter will ensue and a good time will be had. CRS 2018 was exactly that. There is just never a dull moment when in the presence of Scott. As we caught up on his recent show dates performing songs from his latest release Guitar For Sale, I could not help but laugh as he joked with me about the reason he sold out venues. If you know Scott, you know that you never know when he is going to get you with his sharp and brilliantly timed remarks. It will never get old for me, and his fans seem to love it just as much.

As we continued our light-hearted conversation, I delivered a message to Scott from a fan named Forrest. Touched by the message, Scott professed how much his fans mean to him and what they continue to do for him in his career. Admitting that these fans create an excitement for Scott that encourages him to keep working hard to deliver great music and unforgettable shows, the tone in his voice changed and it was easy to see how much his fans truly mean to him.

Before we finished our conversation, Scott let us in on a new song he will be releasing called "Honky Tonk Heart". I for one am ready to hear this new song as its uptempo is sure to have us all singing along and playing on repeat. If there is one thing I know for sure, fans need more artists like Scott on their playlist. From real-life situations full of raw emotion to hysterical lyrics and pure shenanigans,  Scott is hands down one of the most entertaining artists of all time.

If you are not following him on social media yet, please do so now. Watch our full conversation for all the fun, and be sure to grab a copy of Guitar For Sale now. You will absolutely love it. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
