Tap Into Indie: Auburn McCormick
Our Tap Into Indie Series is heating up with the lovely and very talented Auburn McCormick. This artist is one that none of us saw coming.
Usually, I interview artists after their performance, however, there have been a few that I caught before they went on stage. With McCormick, I was able to chat with her before the show. That was probably a good thing because this female vocalist shocked everyone with her performance and I probably would have been speechless during our conversation backstage.
Heart Songs Corporation staff and founder Jill Pavel along with us and everyone at Alley Taps had no idea we were in for such a huge treat. Pavel later told me "She blew the audience away!". Fans were definitely not expecting her level of performance. McCormick was like an extremely well-kept secret. Well, Folks, the cat is out of the bag. This girl can sing.
During our conversation, we spoke about what it was like to be at CMA Fest for the first time as a performer. Though she had not ventured out to Fan Fair X, McCormick was quick to give a shout out to the Predators as she explained that she had gone out to watch the hockey game. There was no denying the level of excitement in the city of Nashville during this amazing week. CMA Fest, the CMT Award Show, and the beloved Nashville Predators making it to the finals made this city come to life like never before and everyone seemed happy.
I asked McCormick what she has coming up, and with pure excitement in her eyes, she gave us all a sneak peek into the news that she is unable to fully reveal. She has been asked to be a part of a CD that will include one of her new songs as a single that will be available on iTunes in the near distant future. Though she could not give more details, it was not hard to see that she is thrilled with the news as are her family and friends.
For now, fans can look forward to more new music from this artist as she will be finishing up an EP after doing some recent studio recording.
