CMA Fest Artist Spotlight: Emily Brooke
I love getting to meet talented young artists. Our next CMA Fest Artist Spotlight is Emily Brooke. This girl knows how to rock the crowd. As a contestant on season 14 of American Idol, Brooke has proven she has what it takes to succeed. She has a great personality and is very fun. During our conversation, we talked about her experience at CMA Fest along with what she has coming up. Check out her Bio (taken from her website) below.
“Emily Brooke is a 17-year-old singer, songwriter, and guitarist that began singing at the age of 9. Brooke loved to sing even as a young child in her car seat to the song "Blue" by Leann Rimes. She took guitar lessons from Mark Boreffi and stopped taking them after about a year because she was teaching herself the songs on her own. Brooke travels to Nashville every year to do the Countriest of the Country show with Billy Yates. She met Yates in 2011 at Rippy's in Downtown Nashville when she was playing there. He heard the young singer from outside of the restaurant when he was walking down the street. He came inside expecting a mature seasoned artist but instead found an 11-year-old girl sitting on a stool with her guitar. Ever since then, Brooke has been invited by Yates to the show he hosts every Fan Fest.
Emily recorded her first album at the age of 13 and was produced by Billy Yates. The album, "Here Right Now" was recorded in 2 days. The first day the studio musicians laid down the tracks while Brooke laid down her scratch vocals. The next day is when she recorded her vocals for the 10 song album in 7 hours. She wrote 3 of the songs on the album with Yates. You can find this album on iTunes and also in her online store.
Since she started her career, Brooke has opened up for many amazing recording artists like Charles Kelley, Tracy Lawrence, David Nail, A Thousand Horses, Craig Campbell and more. Brooke has also been fortunate enough to do duets with multiple female country artists like Kelsea Ballerini, Lauren Alaina, and Cassadee Pope. Also, During season 14 of FOX's hit TV show American Idol, Brooke made it to the Top 48 as a Contestant. She then returned to audition for the shows Farewell Season and made it to the Top 24 out of over 100,000 people who auditioned. She continues to travel back and forth to Nashville songwriting and performing and can't wait to see what 2016 holds for her bright future.”
