Conversations with Missy: Lindsay Ell CMA Fest 22 Fan Club Party

CMA Fest 2022 was a welcomed sight in the beautiful city of Nashville after a 2-year hiatus due to the Covid Pandemic. Fans were simply elated to be back in Music City watching and having the opportunity to meet their favorite artists in Country music.

While some artists were playing the main stages, others were hosting meet-and-greet events, and some even held annual Fan Club Parties. We caught up with Lindsay Ell at her annual Fan Club party at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville. With fans lined out the door waiting to get in, and a table loaded with boxes of Dunkin Donuts, these fans were about to have the best CMA Fest experience.

Sitting with Ell backstage promoting her new single "Right On Time" and talking about her fans and their loyalty was special. However, having the chance to speak with Ell about her beautiful yet emotional song "Make You" will forever live in my mind as one of the most healing conversations I have ever had with an artist. Written with her friend Brandy Clark after attending a "Youth For Tomorrow" event, "Make You" came to life and has been helping survivors of sexual abuse all over the world. Using her voice to bring awareness to those who have struggled with their own experience of sexual abuse along with helping those who have not experienced it understand the feeling of those who have, is simply beautiful. Ell was able to put into words what many survivors struggle with and it remains extremely helpful in aiding their healing process.

I encourage you all to watch this interview and share it with everyone you know. You never know who you might help as oftentimes, survivors remain silent about their personal struggles. I am one of those survivors. Thanks to Ell, I found that I am not alone in my feelings. No one is alone. Hearing "Make You" for the first time is not something that will ever be forgotten. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
