Conversations with Missy: Jake Slater ETA at Nashville Elvis Festival

by Missy Wolf / 1800 days ago / Comments

With each Nashville Elvis Festival I have attended, the talent has continued to get stronger and the crowds have grown significantly in numbers. Whether fans were attending for the first time or they were returning from the previous year's event, one thing was clear. Elvis was most certainly alive and capturing hearts at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee.

For ETA Jake Slater, his return to the Nashville Elvis Festival proved to be a very successful one. Between taking the stage with so many other ETA's who have become good friends, to photo opportunities with his adoring fans, the smile upon Slater's face was undeniable. That smile seemed as big as it could be until we spoke of his beautiful Fiance Laura West that would herself be taking the stage this year to play the part of Ann Margret in honor of the popular Elvis film Viva Las Vegas. It was at that moment Slater's smile became larger as he beamed with excitement for his soon-to-be bride.

As I sat with Slater for our on-camera interview shortly after the first round of the competition, It was clear that he holds the utmost respect for The Nashville Elvis Festival, ETA's, Judges, and fans. Realizing that Elvis is the reason that these festivals and ETA's exist, Slater remained humble and gracious as he expressed his gratitude for the fans and opportunities he has experienced. As he explained what thoughts he has while taking the stage to perform, I was able to relate to him and share a few laughs.

Watch our full conversation with Slater now and be sure to stay tuned in for his special performance. Trust me, you need to watch this. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
