CMA Fest 2018 with Missy: Glen Templeton

As we continue to bring you coverage of CMA Fest 2018, I have the pleasure of bringing you artists you may not be aware of and artists you cannot get enough of. I might even bring you special stories and moments that you will not hear anywhere else.

For fans at CMA Fest, catching a glimpse of one of their favorite artists walking by or being escorted by event staff in a golf cart is thrilling. Sometimes those moments bring a quick snapshot opportunity for fans, however, seldom does the artist have the ability to stop on the street and chat due to their hectic schedules.

As I sat down with Glen Templeton for our interview just after lunch, I knew exactly where I had to start the conversation. You see, Templeton is one of the artists that were able to make time for some unknowing fans as he made his way to the media room at Fan Fair X. As I sat on the ground eating lunch with my son, I watched him interact with several fans as he made his way to his destination. I took note of his genuine personality and appreciation for those who took time to speak with him. Though it was how he interacted with my son that initially caught my attention.

Knowing that during the moment of interaction with my son Templeton had no idea who I was and that he would be interviewing with me within the hour, I decided to take the opportunity to share what I had witnessed and what it meant to me as soon as we began our interview. The instant look of gratitude and excitement on his face lit up the entire room. He immediately recalled the events that took place between him and my son and smiled. It was as if he felt complete in that moment. Templeton then spoke of the importance of treating others how you want to be treated and explained how it was Garth Brooks that inspired him to treat fans the way he does. The passion he has for music and making his fans happy simply oozed out of him as he spoke. Watch our full conversation now to fall in love all over again with Templeton and his extremely kind heart.

After I selfishly hogged the entire beginning of our conversation to share these honest moments with fans, Templeton and I discussed his latest single. "Hip To Be Country" has been moving up the charts since its release and continues to be a success. If you have not yet purchased your copy, you can do so now at the iTunes link provided to you. Also, sharing is caring, so please share this article with your friends so they can learn all about Templeton and discover what fun awaits them. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
