CRS 2018 with Laura: Delta Rae

There are times in this job that I am blown away by the caliber of talent that I am privileged to meet and bring to this forum.  The next group that I talked with during this year's CRS (Country Radio Seminar) is Big Machine Artist, Delta Rae.

I did not have to do a lot of research for this interview because there were already specific talking points or rather, questions I had as a fan myself, that I felt would work in this scenario as well.

If you are already a fan of this amazingly talented group, I do not have to explain the level that they take each song to, whether it is a revisited classic, such as "Seven Bridges Road" or an original song such as "No Peace In Quiet".  As I told them in our conversation, I will say it again, the only thing I can even attempt to compare them to is Little Big Town.  The tone and inflections, adding in the four-part harmonies takes it over the edge and makes each song an experience that you cannot soon forget.

Check out our interview to see how this group of four, with three of them being siblings, deal with the rivalry and just normal family bickering that occurs, let along being together all the time.  I wondered if Liz may actually be the peacemaker in the group, however, you might be surprised at whom that person is.

Delta Rae, a unique name in and of itself, has a much deeper background and meaning for these guys and they give all the credit to their mother.  Listen to them explain why and what to look for at their merch tables soon.

In closing, I could go on and on with my personal appreciation and admiration for Delta Rae, and yet I think I will leave that for the review when the new music is ready, which they are currently working on.  Meantime, make sure to follow them on all social media platforms and remember Brittany and Liz run the group's page, so let them know your thoughts.  Do not forget to watch the tour schedule and get out to see them when they are in a town near you.

A special thanks to Big Machine Label Group and Delta Rae for taking the time to talk with me.  I am truly honored and humbled.  Thank you so much for your contributions to music.

About Laura Lou

Laura Lou Journalist

Beginning about age 13, music always been my “safe place”, my “escape”, it became a part of who I am. My background includes being a photographer/journalist for newspapers, magazines and radio stations and more recently I have been an artist manager. What I continue to strive to learn is, what is important to the fans/readers? I find that the answer is always that they want to feel close to the artist they are supporting. The human contact that we all need is something that I want to deliver to anyone that happens to read something I write or see a photograph I shoot. It is important to me to provide that experience, because I am, after all, still always a “fan” and that giddy 13-year-old girl is simply amazed! I never imagined that my passion and love for music would lead me where I am today! I use the hashtag #iamtheluckiestgirliknow because I cannot believe how blessed I am! I’m excited to see “what happens next” and take you all along with me! This is going to be amazing…
